For over 50 years, TNO has been a globally recognized technology developer for space and scientific instrumentation. With its long heritage in optical, optomechatronical and radar systems design and technologies, the institute is known for cutting edge optical instruments like GOME and TROPOMI and sensors for the astronomical space-based telescope GAIA.


When it comes to all space related matters, TNO focuses on three areas: earth observation, secure broadband connectivity and understanding the universe. An important part of its mission is to create economic growth in The Netherlands as well as the European Union.
